WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT?

I. With the Century Church of Christ?
            1. It is all about going back to the Bible for it all. “If any man speak let him speak as the oracles of God” (I Peter 4:11).
            2. It is all about New Testament Christianity because the Old Testament law has been nailed to the cross and we are under the New Testament. (Colossians 2:14-16; Ephesians 2:14-16)
            3. It is all about worshipping as the Lord directed in the New Testament. (John 4:24). That is why there is only singing, and Sunday observance of the Lord’s Supper (Colossians 3:16; Acts 20:7; Luke 22:19).
            4. It is all about salvation by the grace of God (Ephesians 2:8,9). Man’s response to that grace is that by faith he repents, confesses faith in Christ, and is baptized for the remission of sins.
            5. It is all about getting ready for heaven for the Lord himself shall descend from heaven and the prepared dead and living will be caught up in the air to ever be with the Lord (I Thessalonians 4:16, 17).
For this reason we have this gospel meeting and invite all our friends to come and study the Bible with Bro. Jeff Abrams directing. The Baptistery is filled and clothes are provided if you need to respond to the gospel call.

II. What is it with Individual Christians?
            1. The presentation of their bodies and souls to the Lord to be used in His service. (Romans 12:1,2) “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.” (I Corinthians 6:19, 20). As such they realize that “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” (2 Corinthians 7:1).

            2. The dedication of themselves to letting the Lord rule in their thinking and doing. “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12:2). The renewing of the mind comes when they heed, “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” (Colossians 3:2). And when they, “desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby” (I Peter 2:2).

            3. Not thinking of selves “more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.” (Romans 12:3-5). Every member of the body is necessary to the proper function of the same and so also is it with the church which is the body of Christ. Each joint supplies something very essential to the proper performance of the body. The New Testament concept of Christianity is service not position.

            4. Using their talents to the glory of God and the best of their abilities. Whether singing, praying, teaching classes, preaching, being elders, serving in the deaconship, giving of their means, showing love, helping the needy, or just being kind and encouraging to each other doing all or part of these things with fervent zeal as they uphold the Lord’s cause. (See Romans 12:3-8).

            5. Rejoicing in hope of the coming of Christ, the resurrection of the dead, and a future of enjoying glorious living in the personal presence of God and Christ. (Romans 12:12; I Thessalonians 4:16, 17;

Romans 2:6-10).

            6. Living a peaceful life upon this earth because they do not retaliate to wrongs done them and strive to live peaceably with all men. (Romans 12:17-19)

            When the invitation to come to Christ is given Christians will be instant in prayer, fervent in singing, and sincerely desirous that any unsaved people in the audience will give their lives, souls and bodies to the Lord. He created you. He died for you. He instructs you through his holy word. He is willing to save you. He wants you to have the very best.
